Where do the most perverts actually live in the German-speaking world? That’s the question we explored for our very first Kink Report. The basis for our findings are the web statistics from the past twelve months across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The data comes from Google Analytics and paints not only a clear but also a rather surprising picture.
Because even though Berlin isn’t just Germany’s capital but has long been considered the international capital of kink, the German metropolis only lands in second place in our ranking with around four percent of all page views. Leading the list with nearly seven percent, almost twice as much, is Frankfurt am Main. Between the skyline, the Main river and business lunches, the appetite for kink seems particularly strong.
From financial hub to fetish hub: Frankfurt is into BDSM
What exactly makes the banking metropolis so dirty remains unclear, but one thing is certain: Frankfurt trades not only in numbers but also in fantasies. Vienna follows in third place, closely followed by Munich, Hamburg and Cologne. So kink isn’t just a Berlin thing, it’s thriving across all major cities in the DACH region.
The results are quite representative given the large amount of data analyzed and were confirmed twice over. Our partner podcast Rein & Raus also reports that most of its listeners are from Frankfurt. Coincidence? Hardly.

Is the Main river water to blame for all that BDSM in Frankfurt?

For this analysis, the demographic data of Deviance website visits between August 25, 2024 and August 24, 2025 were evaluated. Around 166,000 visits from a total of 900 locations worldwide were recorded. Over six percent, matching the entire country of Austria, came from the United States alone.
