The highlight comes with the fourth Advent. Together with Orion, we are giving away a stylish men’s skirt and lace pants worth a total of 130 euros.

The skirt attracted curious looks shortly after it was picked up from Orion in Flensburg.

Well packaged. The best piece in lace.

This stress test started more animalistic than expected. In Flensburg, the northernmost city in Germany and among other things known for porn, beer, and points. After the skirt and the pants were in our possession, we ran into a herd of Galloway cattle in the immediate vicinity of Orion’s headquarters. Living among them is also a red deer named Sven. How fitting that our skirt in kilt style is also from the brand Svenjoyment. A good sign.

We then headed toward Hamburg to the Passion fair. By then, I was already wearing the skirt and the pants to see how they felt during the drive. At first, it was an unusual feeling to wear a skirt. Not because people at the rest stops looked at you strangely, but rather because of the freedom for legs and movement. Especially when sitting in the car, nothing is tight or pinches. Why didn’t anyone think of this earlier? Can skirts become a mass-market masculine trend? They actually always have been at certain times, but for functional or cultural reasons.

The men’s skirt. Trend or evergreen?

Made a good impression at the fair. The skirt with the practical removable shoulder bag.

Among our ancestors in the Bronze Age and among the Germanic peoples, skirts were a fixed part of male clothing. In warm regions of our planet, men’s and women’s fashion still differs only minimally to this day. On Bali, for example, you are not allowed to enter temples without a traditional wrap skirt. In the harsh Scottish Highlands, the patterned skirt even became a symbol of tradition and national pride, and the men’s skirt also remained part of traditional Greek folk costume.

What is still often an eye-catcher on our streets has long since established itself in the haute couture scene. Jean Paul Gaultier made the first move, Vivienne Westwood produced a skirt collection for men. And in the 1990s, the men’s skirt was one of the trend garments in the techno scene.

Today, the skirt is experiencing a revival especially in the kinky scene. After all, what else are you supposed to wear on the lower half when jeans, joggers, and boxers are not allowed at some events?

The cuts of men’s skirts are generally tougher and less playful. Studs, buckles, and belts are often influenced by the gothic scene. Our knee-length test model has a kilt touch. The woven fabric of the skirt fits snugly at the top and then opens up into many pleats. It is very easy to put on and is closed with snap buttons at the waistband and a zipper. The flap pocket is detachable with a carabiner chain and offers enough space for a phone, a wallet, and even a pack of tissues.

At the Passion fair, the BDSM and fetish scene meeting point that takes place every year at the end of November for three days in Hamburg-Schnelsen, the skirt blended seamlessly into the scene. The standard question, as expected, was always “What are you wearing underneath?” That’s where the lace pants in elegant dark red came into play. And to get straight to the point. Yes, they were very well received.

The lace factor…

“The lace lets the skin, your best parts, and your tight butt shimmer seductively, but still doesn’t reveal everything,” says the product description. We wanted to go one step further and also test whether the floral lace leaves marks when struck with a paddle. And sure enough, a small mark in soft pink remained.

Kat Kristall tries to leave a lasting impression. Successfully.

After a few hours at the fair, during which the skirt and pants proved very comfortable to wear, it was time to head to the podcast recording in Hamburg city center. How would Kinky Guide, aka Nico, from the well-known podcast Vanilla is not enough react? At first, he didn’t notice the skirt at all. Only when I crossed my legs in the studio did he notice it and from then on kept thinking of an iconic scene from a well-known erotic thriller from the 1990s. The film quote “You know, I don’t like to wear any underwear, don’t you, Nick?” fit almost perfectly. Only it wasn’t Nick sitting there, it was Nico. And I was still wearing the pants. Which didn’t press or chafe even after the paddle test. I was able to finish the interview in style.

A casual eye-catcher with plenty of freedom

We then continued on to Munich for the Avantgardista fashion show plus aftershow party. Here too, the skirt was a loyal companion. Kinky enough and still subtle. Essentially a perfect basic garment that shouldn’t be missing from any wardrobe and that increases your chances of not being turned away even at strict doors.

“You know, I don’t like to wear any underwear, don’t you, Nick?” The skirt in the interview with Nico from Kinky Guide.

As for the materials of the two textiles. The skirt is made of 65 percent polyester and 35 percent cotton. A relatively high polyester content, but since a skirt is always well ventilated anyway, you don’t sweat. The cotton content, in turn, provides sufficient warmth. The lace pants are made of 90 percent polyamide and 10 percent elastane, which makes them soft and elastic. Thanks to the lace structure, you also have the feeling that enough air is always reaching the skin.

Cleanliness and care. The skirt and lace pants are best washed gently by hand with mild detergent. We also washed them once in the washing machine at lower temperatures, maximum 30 to 40 degrees Celsius, on a delicate cycle with mild detergent. No problem there either. They neither shrank nor bled color.

Conclusion: In our opinion, this combination makes an excellent Christmas gift. A men’s skirt paired with lace pants naturally draws attention and inevitably sparks the question of what’s worn underneath. The lace pants then deliver the intended surprise effect. Both pieces are reasonably priced, feel well made, and depending on use, should last for a long time.
