Shibari

Shibari is a special style of rope bondage that evolved from a Japanese military tying technique known as Hojojutsu. In Japan, what we refer to in Europe as Shibari is often called Kinbaku, a term also frequently encountered in connection with bondage. Literally, it translates to "bind." Typically, the technique involves sexual bondage where the bound person is tied in intricate patterns. Usually, multiple pieces of thin rope are used, approximately six millimeters (1/4 inch) thick and seven to eight meters (21-25 feet) long. Deviance collects articles on Shibari here.
