What is a Ponyboy or Ponygirl?

Ponyboy or Ponygirl is a term from the BDSM scene and refers to people whose kink, i.e. unusual preference from the outside, is to slip into the role of a – usually submissive – horse. This role is often, but not always, accompanied by sexual arousal. Ponyboys and -girls and their play partners like to use costumes. This often includes masks and equestrian accessories to visually emphasize the role.

Unlike those people who try to mime a real horse and its behavior as authentically as possible in pony play, the Ponyboy or Ponygirl often remains human in his or her role. This is more about control, showing off and humiliating aspects of a submissive horse role. A sexual component is not mandatory, but can be part of the game.

Ponyboys and Ponygirls enjoy an exciting power dynamic by being treated, educated, disciplined and trained as a human being like a horse. This can include pony shows and tricks, but also chastity and, in the case of people with prostates, so-called milking. It is even possible to ride a Ponyboy or -girl.

Which roles are related?

Ponyboys and Ponygirls are pet players. Like puppies or kittens, they need attention, structure and care. However, crops, whips and gags are also part of the horse world, which in turn differentiates the roles. Impact play, i.e. spanking, may be desirable with Ponies, whereas other pet players often do without it.

It should also be borne in mind that horses have their own will and the physical strength to assert it. That is why it is not uncommon for Ponyboys or Ponygirls to have a tendency towards rebellious bratty behavior.

Who matches with a Ponyboy Ponygirl?

Typical roles that will enjoy a Ponyboy or Ponygirl are Trainer and Owner. Their preference should lie more in education and training than in cuddling a pet. A Pony’s play partner should not shy away from physical challenges. He or she should also have a certain amount of assertiveness.
